Second “Far From The Madding Crowd” Trailer

Yahoo! UK released the second trailer for “Far From The Madding Crowd” earlier today and it features lots of new footage. The trailer has been added in our video archive and the HD screencaptures can be found in our gallery.


This lavish new adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s 1874 masterpiece stars Carey Mulligan as Bathsheba, the farm owner pursued by three different suitors: sheep farmer Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), feckless soldier Troy (Tom Sturridge) and stern bachelor William Boldwood (Michael Sheen).

The film is directed by Thomas Vinterberg, who earned plaudits with his previous Oscar-nominated film ‘The Hunt’, and was shot in Dorset, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ is released in the UK on 1 May 2015.

Fox Searchlight UK released the first teaser trailer of “Far From The Madding Crowd” earlier today. Matthias stars alongside Carey Mulligan in Thomas Hardy’s classic English novel adaption. Fun fact: The novel was first published in book form 140 years ago today, on November 23, 1874. The teaser can be watched below or in our video archive and the high definition screen captures have been added in our gallery.

Based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her fetching wilfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love – as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance.
